I'm looking for a smaller amp that I can take places (just for practice) for a decent price. I don't want a cheapo amp that will break or give me a bad sound, but a small decent amp for a reasonable price. I would prefer not to go over $300 but if an amp is worth the price, feel free to suggest it. What do you guys think?

The micro cube is not worth the money. I have one that's been sitting in a closet for about 3 yrs now. There are plenty of small amps for under 300 bucks

Plugged into a Micro Cube a few months ago for a bit of a laugh, and was rather surprised at the sounds you could get out of it, particularly on the clean side of things.

Unless portability is a big priority, I'd still go for something a bit larger, but for what it is, it's amazing what sounds you can muster with a bit of tweaking, certainly sounded a lot bigger than it had any right to once I had worked out how to make it stop dissolving into fuzziness.

I've got a Bugera Vintage 5 and love it. Good clean and dirty tones and an attentuator that lets you set it to .5 watts, 1 watt, or 5 watts. Can't beat it for $199!

I've had a lot of success with the Vox AC4TV. Same deal, 1/4W - 1W - 4W

Sounds really pretty when broken in, especially with a strat.

Hey guys, I also saw the Roland Vube Lite. It seems pretty cool how you can use your iPhone with it... What do you think?

I do like the Micro Cube for vocals though.

For $200 you get a PA (MicroCube) and Mustang Mini (Instrument) for mobile use.
