Hi guys

It has been 10 years since I ditched my Squire Strat, but I knew I would always have to have a Strat. I aquired a second hand Mexi Strat and re-furbished it in a way (new electronics and color and a good clean-up). It will be my number 2 guitar (thrash around lend to friends and kids guitar) becuase I know it will handle the abuse :D .

This is my Strat as I got it.......

And how it is now......

Thanks for the kind words.

I used spray paint in a can, Matt White as the base coat and Clear Lacquer to gloss it over. I wanted to do more than 4 clear coats but without a proper clean spray booth I was forced to stop at 4 because dust particles/contaminants were becoming a problem. White shows up impurities far more easily than other colors. I then used water paper to sand and buff (the finest grit I could find was 1200). Finaly alot of hard arm polishing with automotive polish to finish it off.

Under very close inspection the gloss finish is not as good as Factory Finishes are, but it does suit the age of the guitar. It looks used but well look after if you know what I mean (for a 2004 year guitar).

Whoa, that olympic white body/3-ply black pickguard combo is KILLER. :o

This guitar deserves a CBS maple neck with large headstock!
