it really is personal preference, you need to play both to see which one you like more. If I can mention at least one thing, the Clapton may be more versatile, with the TBX and Mid-Boost, it is a very versatile guitar, the American Vintage, I would imagine it would be just a really nice sounding Strat, no little "goodies" inside though. Just find a store that has one or both and go play the hell out of them

The TBX is only present on the regular Artist and Teambuilt Custom versions of the instrument.

A Masterbuilt Clapton Strat lacks off the TBX but keeps the MDX as specified by the artist himself.

well seeing the guitars he is comparing, around the same price range, I doubt he is talking about the Masterbuilt ones

You need to play them as they have very different neck shapes. I prefer a v neck on the Clapton to any other neck shape
