Which means it's a Squier (which came with the black plastic rod hole liner and big headstock at that time), and a fake decal.

After a lot of research this weekend I came up with exactly the same.

Well no it all works fine but the block I could change if it would make a big improvement, does it really prolong the sustain enough that it would be worth doing?

I would like to thank everyone here for helping identify this guitar.

Hi again Mannus: many people here have replaced the skinny zinc blocks like you have under that bridge with full size steel or brass ones and said they found their sound improved. More sustain and/or more middle and low range to the tone are things folks say they're hearing. I've never done it myself: I can't speak from experience. But if tone improving mods are what interest you that's probably a good one to try.

Check out those websites I linked to - but be sure to measure the spacing of the screws that hold the block to the bridge plate. Not all trems are created equal, and it would be a pain to buy a block that won't fit to the bridge.

Good luck - C
