I'm with Chet. Basically, you can expect to get what you pay for. Jay really, really over-hypes his products. Everything he sells is pretty much better than Fender ever made it, according to him. And that's just completely stupid of him to imply. I have a few of his pickups, some I like and some I don't. Bought a Strat tremolo which he calls an "Upgrade" but it clearly isn't. Still, it is fine and just as nice as anything else I've used in the same price range. Many folks do like the pickups though...

I think it depends what you're upgrading.
GFS pickups are amazing for the price IMO, perfect for a MIM, or Squier.
Now, if you're upgrading a MIA, they may not blow you away.
I'm very satisfied with mine (GFS 60s Repro).

I have always had good communication and service from Guitarfetish. I like to use their pickups and stuff for budget projects and minor upgrades/changes. If I am out to build something a little nicer I might use a couple sets of their pups just because of price to performance. If I am building without a tight budget for myself or others I won't likely use them. GFS pups are (overlooking the hype) pretty much as described and a good value for the money. Don't expect the world to change if you swap PUPS.
