I have a 2012 Fsr Aztec Gold Strat Deluxe. It has stock N3 Noiseless pups in it. They sound good to my ears, but just not giving me those "moments" tonally that I long for. I am new to Fender, and am coming from a 10 year Gibson career. I've looked into The Dimarzio Area pickguard, and I like it a lot, but then I cam across the Dimarzio Unjector pickguard with an area 67 in middle position...wow! I love how it's kind of the happy medium between humbucker and single coil?
My delimma: I want a bit heavier tone in the bridge position, but Im nervous about changing the mid and neck positions???? I don't know.

Just shoot me your thoughts all around. I know there are a plethora of pup companies, but I truly like Dimarzios sounds.

DiMarzio's Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues or Heavy Blues II may be just the ticket for your bridge position.

I'd stick to the Gibson! Whatever you do with a Strat (and I have a couple with Seymour's JB & Jazz fitted) it's not going to sound like a Gibbo!

Agree that DiMarzio's VV range has more oomph, but to my ears none of the stacked HB's sound as good as a proper SC.

I like the Texas Special (bridge) and CS69's on one of mine for a bit more guts, but of course they'll hum if you're too close to the amp. I don't find this a problem but it may be important to you?

But that's just my ears! The only thing you can really do is try a few...

Cheers - Peter.

What's difference in V V heavy blues and heavy blues II tonally?

I've looked at the Area series pickguard from Dimarzio and that seems good too?

Lastly, what's your opinion between the original N3 noiseless I currently have and Dimarzion area series?

I have zero experience with the N3 pickups but between the DiMarzio's and Fender's older SCN's, I prefer the DM's hands down as hotter, beefier, and more authentic sounding.

I'm thinking I'll love the DM Area's. I'm looking for that authentic sound with punch...

Try a Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues (or HBII) at the bridge, an Area 58 in the middle, and an Area 61 for the neck. They'll sound their best using a .022 or .033 ufd tone cap.

Well, I jumped on the Dimarzio Injector Prewired pickguard of all the ones available. Heard it, and fell in love with the fact it holds the chime and clarity of the single coil, but with some good punch in the tank. Will update with pics once installed and tested. Review city here we come... 8)
