Problem solved
I recognize: my luthier did not analyze the neck adjustment properly.
Thanks

Here's a pic of an alder Strat body.

Looks to be about the same to me.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

You don't really know lumber, do you......?

Poplar has virtually no visible grain and a greenish tinge to it "in the raw".

Who's to say the bridge isn't centred? More likely, the pick guard isn't cut properly. Pick up a heap of guitars, happens a lot.

If you just showed me the pic and asked me what wood that was, I'd say alder every time.

Your guitar is made of alder. If the laquer comes off when you scratch it with a knife then my advice to other Strat owners would be not to scratch the guitar with a knife.

Is this a picture after you relocated the bridge? It is certainly in the wrong place in the picture. Sometimes the neck angle can slip a little, and usually all that is required is to loosen the four neck plate screws and move the neck to one side and tighten the screws, quite common. Hard to believe that it came from the factory with the bridge that far off.

I don't think it is. Look at his before and afters. Bridge location looks to be exactly the same in both, if you go by it position relative to the pickguard. Suggests the guard is the thing that was cut off-centre. If he has moved the bridge, it doesn't look like it's made any difference from those pics.

Hi,

This explains why I do not trust the legendary manufacturer F...
Maybe it could spare you the mistake I made buying this guitar (maybe it was only me, unlucky buyer).

I own a couple of Fenders (MIM telecaster, MIM strat, MIJ strat and US strat).
My main complaint concerns my Fender classic series 50s made in Mexico strat from 2007 (serial number MZ7206039).
The wood does not look like alder advertised systematically in the Fender catalog (it seems to be rather poplar). It does not sound really bad, but different from alder (more treblish, less resonant).

The worse thing on this guitar is the bridge that was not centered (needed fill in the holes and bore in other in the right place).

Removing varnish proved to be very deceivingly or happily) easy on my classic series 50s Made in Mexico strat from 2007 (serial number MZ7206039). The varnish started to splint by itself when I unscrew the neck for the first time. Then I used an old and inoffensive retractable knife to remove the whole varnish. It showed no resistance and in 10 minutes the body was stripped off.

Here some pictures:

I can assure you that this is indeed alder. I can also assure you that if you had a bunch of solid coloured alder strats (of the same spec) another bunch of solid coloured poplar strats-sonically you wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
99.99% of people wouldn't either.

Might I point out the obvious: what you hear acoustically and what you hear 'plugged in' are two completely different things. -just say'n.

That's bound to stir the pot of debate.

What led you to believe that the bridge wasn't positioned correctly ?

What shimmilou said with regards to neck adjustment seems like the likely solution if it was simply that the strings weren't parallel with the edge of the neck. I think you may have unnecessarily moved the bridge :(

You really screwed up by moving the bridge instead of simply adjusting the neck. That is not a factory defect at all, it happens during shipping quite often, the neck gets shifted out of alignment. Your so-called professional luthier seems to know as little as you do about guitars, and now your bridge is in the wrong place and looks like crap.

No Strats have varnish, they either have lacquer or poly finishes, and some have thin skins on purpose, a popular option. The newer Classic Series 50s now come with a lacquer finish and that finish would come off fairly easily as compared to the poly finish, again not a factory defect, it's similar to the vintage finish. And even the ploy finish can crack if you use too much force on the screws.

You should be mad at yourself for ruining a fine guitar, not mad at the factory.

+1000!

I don't think I've ever seen a bigger disaster than that in my 47-year association with the Fender Strat.

Find yourself a REAL luthier and unfuck that mess.

I am certainly not a specialist, but I can see the difference in quality with my MIJ strat

I have never had any problem with my other Fenders. The neck fits perfectly and does not require this kind of adjustment. The finish or lacquer is way more resistant. I was probably lucky with my other gear.

Your MIJ picture tells us nothing.

As for the pickguard, it may fit perfectly, but the bottom cut could simply be poorly cut. If you moved your bridge because of that, assuming the bridge was off centre, it was a stupid thing to do. Going on the pics, it doesn't look like it needed moving at all.

I have a MIM 60s Classic Series guitar along with a 50th Anniversary 50's Classic Series and bought both new and these had quality on par with the MIA 57/62 Reissues with the exception of three things...a poly vs lacquer finish, pickups, and a smaller zinc trem block. Both played incredibly well and had NO issues ever.

I have never seen a bridge miss aligned on a MIM Classic series guitar, these are probably the top of the line MIM guitars and think the neck shifted a bit and just needed to be adjusted. Now you have a real problem on your hands. First thing you should do is NEVER take another guitar to that "Luthier" :!: :!: :!:
