I have a 2012 FSR Aztec Gold Strat Deluxe, and I love the N3 noiseless in the middle and neck, but I want a fatter/Heavier tone out of the neck. Ive looked at both Seymour Duncan Hot Rail, and Dimarzio Area 61's. Thoughts???

I know the hotrail will be more of a humbucker tone, which I do love, but what would be the main difference between those two pups? Any video links or discussions greatly appreciated. Below is y new strat Im working on. I love this Machine!!!

Don't overlook Aaron's pups. I think you will find most everyone that has dealt with Aaron has been very pleased.

Kinman makes a noiseless P90 if you like that sound. You'd need to buy a new scratchplate. Warmoth gives you plenty of options including P90.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Don't overlook a lot of other manufacturers.

The Area and Hotrails are both very different animals. It's a pickup that is designed to sound like a single coil vs a pickup that is designed to sound like a humbucker. Also - balance might be an issue. I'm not sure how hot the N3s are. The Hot Rails neck matches well with humbuckers but might overpower Stacks.

I'm a big fan of DiMarzio's Area pickups.
They aren't terribly high output pickups....but then again...I play Blues Rock....I don't want high output pickups!
Rail type pickups just mess up the look of a traditional pole piece pickup Stratocaster.
I would consider Duncans......but he really ticks me off the way he HAS to plaster his name on the front of the pickup. It totally screws with the aesthetics!!
Does anyone know or has tried to remove his name from a pickup?
He has a Whole Lotta humbucker that I'd love to try.....but....that awful moniker!!!

I'm in complete agreement with you.

FYI: Any Duncan can be ordered without the logo at no extra charge.
