Do you still get positions 2 and 4 (Classic Strat sounds)? If so, then you have a contact problem with the either the selector switch or a wire.

Open up the guitar and take a look.

You may have:
1. Broken pickup
2. Your switch needs cleaning or replacing
3. Bad solder connection on pickup wire.

You will need an OHMs meter to really find out the problem, or take it in for repair.

Check that the middle pickup's terminal on the pickup selector switch isn't touching the body of the guitar underneath it. See, the body has a coat of shielding paint and if it comes in contact with the terminal, it will short the pickup out.

It sounds like the middle pup is working, but you might have a bad connection with selector switch.
