Pedal:

This setup is not bad, in fact, I actually enjoy the really high output squealing pinch harmonics i get out of the Atomic Humbucker - but I really only get squealies with the Fuzz Pedal on, full fuzz effect and the buffer on, without the buffer the pinched harmonics just dont scream.

I find the Atomic Humbucker is useless and ice picky clean
The Noiseless N3 are useless with fuzz or with the amp volume maxed and using the master to keep the volume down.

I pretty much have to roll the volume and tone on the guitar down to around 5-7 to get decent tones and then it's just kind of a light gain sound that really is only heard if I strike a power chord.

The N3 Pickups are just dark and muddy to me in almost all positions. The only real good sound I get out of the neck pickup is with the tone and volume on 6 and keeping the volume knob around 3-4 - reverb is a -must- for the neck pickup. It's the only way it sounds good. Then I get a nice, clean, smoky, watery, bluesy tone I love.

What I am unable to do with this strat is what I want. I love the Albert Collins, Tab Benoit, Buddy Guy...pretty much EVERY blues guitarist sound who plays a Fender. You know that hot, loud, spanking overdriven sound that we hear in between singing.... best example i can find right now is Buddy's tone here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8M_3JTwtPg

His playing is sloppy and fast and I know tone comes from hands... but this is a sound I would like to get out of my strat.

I am guessing that my Amp and Fuzz pedal are sufficient but I am guessing the problem is the pickups I have. The Atomic is great if I want to rock out like Billy gibbons with Pinched Harmonics or get crazy shredder action going like Gary Hoey.... but I just can't seem to nail the sound in that video that we have come to expect from blues guitarist who play Fenders.

I have looked at Cream T Pickups, Lolars, Don Mare, CS 57s, Texas Specials... I really just don't know what to get and what to put in my strat and frankly what it will even accept with a HSS configuration with an S1 switch and a Passing Lane button... (i love the passing lane kill switch thing, straight tot he humbucker, it's great, but I find the S1 kind of useless).

Argh... Help!!! lol!!!

Hate you tell you, but Buddy plays through two Chicago Blues Box Buddy Guy Signature amps (a 5F6A Bassman clone) with all controls at 12 except for bass which is on 1. No pedals (except a wah on occasion). You'll never get that sound with your current setup.

You complain that the N3 pickups are dark and muddy then you say you run with them set with volume and tone at 5 - 7. Make up your mind. You are not going to overdrive an amp with those settings.

Instead of changing pickups, you need to learn how to properly use what you have.
