Howdy folks.

Interested in this guitar for someone else as I am a lefty lol. I wanted to ask what you folks think. I am cautious this guitar is a fake. Mainly because I can't find a reversed neck with the way this Fender logo is placed. Serial number says it is a 93-94 US strat. Pickups are not original that I know, nut and tree's are changed as well. I am waiting for him to remove the neck to take a picture of the heel stamp and neck pocket stamp which would help me out much better. She's banged up and seen better days, but the price I can get it for is what is raising my alarm with the possibility of it being a fake. back plate holes check out, bridge etc.
Opinions? I know the pictures are small, I never took them lol
What do you think something like this is worth?

there has been a crack repair as you can see.
Can't say I ever seen someones name stamped on the neck heel before, what is that all about? Does this look like a legit neck and body? more so.. is that neck for that body?
Serial number is N3121834

I asked seeing that I couldn't see in the picture, if there was any stamping inside the neck pocket for the body, and it would seem that there isn't. Fake body?

I don't know what to make of it... the body looks older then a 93, but I was under the impression that all Fender strats have some form of stamping inside the neck pocket? But I am far from an expert, hence me asking you guys!

Okay - lots of questions here. I think it is a parts guitar made with a Fender neck and body. However, the neck and body come from different guitars. Fender never put a lefty neck on a right-handed American Standard.

I believe the neck is a left-handed 1993 American Standard neck (the name stamped on it would be either the guy who built it, finished it, or inspected it) that has been modded with the Wilkinson roller nut as used on the Strat Plus/Strat Plus Deluxe/Tele Plus Deluxe of that approximate era. I don't believe that Fender did a lefty Strat Plus (and this one doesn't have locking tuners) but I could be wrong on that. I'm still going with it being an American Standard neck.

The body also looks like an American Standard body - it has the mechanism for the micro-tilt. I suspect it has been refinished (probably when the crack was repaired) so the stamping/stickers could have been removed at that time. The pickups have of course been changed. If you could see a shot of the body with the pickguard removed it should have the swimming pool route. Unfortunately without any stamps its impossible to date the body.

Thank you John for your reply. That is what I was suspecting with the neck and body, but never thought it could be repainted. Judging by the color.. it looks to be the original paint?
So basically this guitar is only worth the cost of the neck?
What do you think this could be worth? If it's not worth what I would be giving to get it then I won't get it.
Thanks for your knowledge!

That neck appears to be an early Jeff Beck signature neck, I've seen the Chavez stamp before, on CS instruments. In fact the only thing keeping me from suspecting Custom Shop is the serial no'. They had CN prefixed serial numbers in 1993.

If it's a Jeff Beck neck you'll know by how thick it is, they were monstrously sized things back then. The body looks legit, though probably not for that neck.
Fender did make a left handed neck on a right handed body guitar, the Voodoo Strat. Though as a lefty, I don't think you'll get any benefit from this guitar aside from having the tuning pegs facing upwards. You'll still have the tremolo arm, switches and knobs in the way of your left arm

No this guitar is not for me, I was going to get it and possibly give it to my father. I just wanted to make sure it's legit.. And was wondering what something like this would be worth?
Thanks!

Wished I knew for sure about the body =/
Anyone in the know have any clue what this could be worth?
Is a guitar like this, not sought after on the retail market? I am just trying to get an idea here. :)

I just confirmed with the fellow that it does in fact have a swimming pool route. So does this help at all?

It looks like a Strat Plus that someone took out the original Lace Sensors and added some string trees.
