My tech said to get rid of all relief and that fixed it! This neck likes to be perfectly straight. No buzz! Whoohoo! :)

This has been driving me insane since I bought this damn thing... I have a mexican stratocaster that plays like butter... Strings are low and the action is low and it plays absolutely beautiful... I bought an American Standard a couple months ago and I have this horrible , but very subtle buzz on the G string... Took it to a tech for a proper setup, even though I had just bought the damn thing on Guitar Center they still charged me.... I'm never taking a guitar back to GC because they didn't do a damn thing to get rid of the buzzing.
I immediately set it up myself since atleast I could get it to a better less annoying set up. I've tried everything!!!! The strings are as high as they can possibly be... The low e, b and every other string sound smooth and clean... But that G string sounds super dead... No sustain at all, and the buzz is more noticiable when I play it with a little overdrive or distortion... I lowered the pickups to the lowest possible setting, that helped a little, I even raised the tremolo/bridge piece and that helped a lottle as well... But I don't like doing that... Anyways... I feel like I've done every si gle thing I can possibly do... And every other string plays smooth and the g string is just a nightmare... I'm really going insane here... I called Fender and they said to take it to a place to get an "evaluation" and I called the place and the first thing the tech said was: "Well, strats do that... The G string always buzz" Absurd!!!!
So I really don't know what to do, I'm stuck with a 1,300 dlls piece of crap! I have 200 dlls guitars that play a million times better... What a huge dissapointment!

Start a new thread
Start from scratch with new strings
Start the setup as suggested in your owners manual, one step at a time-in sequence.

I'm sure you'll get it sounding right...Have faith in yourself to do a meticulous job of setting it up perfectly.
You haven't failed, until you've given up.

With 99.99% certainty, the trouble is not with the guitar, it's with the setup.
Demand your money back from GC, take the guitar to a good pro.
At the moment it seems you try to fix it yourself by guessing and overcorrecting, which IMHO will not lead to good results.
If you absolutely want to DIY the setup, the first thing to do is measure the current one, so the trouble can be better diagnosed.

I have been following this topic, and have some thoughts, maybe it had to do with the truss rod vibrating, ?
My 1st thought, a tuning key could have been the issue, loose nut or tuner knob screw loose.
I have has little issues like this before, and spent days going over everything
