I have a Strat that I tune using a Boss TU-12. I was just messing with the tuner when I noticed that strings 1 & 2 do not register a key when I press down on frets 21 & 22. The other 4 strings light up the tuner identifying the key and all 6 strings light up the tuner with the correct key on each fret and each string - except for strings 1 & 2 on frets 21 & 22.

I tried the pickup switch in all positions and get the same results.

Any ideas what to look at?

Thanks

Not sure why you would want to tune way up at the 21st fret. how strong is the sound up there when plugged in? if your output is a bit weak, you can try to raise up your pu's a skosh...but be careful if you raise up too high, the magnets can affect your tuning. as long as you have a good signal, and your tuner is picking up well open, and at the 12th fret, and your harmonics, I think it's a non issue.

Not that I want to play at those frets... just thought it odd that my tuner did not display the notes on those two strings/frets yet did on all the others. Notes are correct up to fret 21... then nothing.

Harmonics seem OK but I'm not an expert there, by any means.

I'll try another tuner and recheck my setup. Unfortunately, I never did this before so I don't know if it's a flaw or, as you say, a non-issue.

Thanks for the reply.
