Thanks! I tried the pure white and didnt like it at all for pickguard. This Aged white Pearloid explodes the overall look of the guit. Im getting another one exactly like it for my 2013 Sunburst Am deluxe also. Im just not liking the mint guard on the burst. Will post before and after once done. :P

I also wanted a darker neck as my sunburst and Gold Deluxes have the new all maple necks that are whiter than toothpaste, so I took some Kiwi brown shoe polish to them! Wow! Aged them perfectly. Will post before and afters soon.

Thats a pretty cool way to yellow the laquer on the neck.
I love the aged pearl pickguard too I have one on my standard.

Your two strats above look sooo good. I was a bit nervous at first until I pulled it out of the box and boom, strat came to life with that color. I wanted a Lincoln Brewster-esque strat color. I love his gold 57 relic. But, solid single ply white just didnt do it for me. It actually cheapened the look. Pearloid was my route and what a good road it was! lol! Cheers!

I think you accomplished your goal man. :) Thats a super classy and attractive instrument now. I dont know why Fender doesnt use pearl pickguards on the American Deluxe for that kind of money they should be beautiful. Im thinking about a new strat in the near future but unsure what I want to get. May take the plunge and get a custom shop one, you know exactly how i want with a floyd and all.

You say that you plan purchasing a floyded CS Strat in the future.

Please specify the type of Floyd Rose bridge.

An original or a Mini?

What color custom are you dreaming of?

I'll probably play my Deluxes for a few more years, and get my chops true and the plunge into custom shop land. I was a gibson guy for soo long, and now I'm smitten by strats and that tone.

Hey everyone, lovely American Deluxes! I hope I'm not breaking the spirit of the thread here if I ask if the CS Custom Classic Stratocasters count, which I understand were made from parts from the American Deluxe line?

If the Custom Classics count, here's mine:

Image

The headstock and neck has areas with lovely birdseye figuring, which looks rather odd in the first picture of the front of the headstock:

But somehow came out much better in this pic:

This is my first nitro-finished Fender guitar, and the rich caramel/toasted nuts aroma that comes when I open the case is totally delicious!

The only slight issue I have with it at the moment is it likes to chow strings, at the bridge, especially the D string which I'm sure has a burr or something, something that I'm not especially skilled to diagnose and fix myself, sadly.

Sorry chromeface I don't seem to be getting notifications from the board so much anymore. I don't know whats up with that.

I would get the original if I did its just as easy for me to just buy an American Special and install it myself that I could probably just give the extra money to me :)

But it would be awesome to be able to get everything the way I wanted from the start.
I want a maple neck with the jumbo frets and a 70s headstock.
Black finished swamp ash body with 3 ply black pickguard and aged white parts with tex mex and a Hot Rod pickup. Original Floyd Rose
Im considering doing a Warmoth build and just getting a 70s headstock waterslide too.

What a sharp strat brother! You know, I wish they made their regular cases look as good as the custom cases! Ha! Sweet!
