Donny,
I would happily, happily, very happily buy the original bridge from you. PM me if you'd like to sell it.

I sold two of them and a spare parts bag on ebay to buy the original floyd man sorry.

FWIW, my CS Charvel hands down outplays all of my Fenders. My Jackson Strathead plays better than my Deluxe or my Masterbuilt, but my MIJ Fender Strat 1-hum is pretty much on par. Build quality on all my CJ's and Fenders are comparable. My ESP Strat smokes them all in build quality. And yeah, I think I own enough of each to validate my opinion. lol

This one is going into the shop to get a Floyd today! ;)

edit: I'm not gonna put a Floyd nut on it though, I'm happy with the LSR + Schaller locking tuners.

Have you thought about the Super-Vee just the bridge? its about the same as a route job and bridge.
I tried them they are great but not quite a Floyd.

I thought about the same aproach on my Am Deluxe leaving LSR but I did the full smear.
I am happy now, that Am Standard is probably next.

1998 American Deluxe Fat Strat Locking
Trans Purple (which is actually more like red wine than purple)

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Put a Mini Floyd Rose tremolo on that baby and don't bother for those annoying alterations on the body!

You may find that the strings fall out of the LSR when dive bombing.
In which case I used an R-4 but had to mill a groove in the back of it to adjust the truss.

You will want to check into I believe an R-9 its the same as an R-4 and has the truss groove on back.
Dont believe the standard R-2 works on the modern American Deluxe because it does not.

An R-9 is what you will need.

Floyded strats are getting few and far between because Fender bought 2 sinking ships
CHARVEL and JACKSON

They took away all Fender Strat players locking tremolos save the cheap Mexican Blacktop with a junk Floyd Rose Special on it made in Korea.

If you call FENDER and ask about it they immediatly say hey have you tried our CHARVEL and JACKSON line?

In an attempt to to up sales of thier purchased companies they are forcing us to buy CHARVEL and JACKSON

So... I gave my 2012 and 2013 Guitar purchases to GIBSON ($2000 a year) and did my own work on my old Fenders.
I guess I will just buy used and start routing do my own Floyd Rose install work.

That is my grudge against CHARVEL and JACKSON.

Sure I played them in the 90s they are trend guitars like BC Rich that are out of style in my genre now.
I resent FENDER forcing me to buy one if I want a Floyd Rose.
I will NEVER buy a CHARVEL or JACKSON now.

Image

I read what you posted about comments of the Charvel/Jackson acquisition and I couldn't agree with you more to be honest. However, you may want to have a look at the new Pro Mod San Dimas Series that is about to be realeased soon- the are a true strat shape body & neck, instead they have an oiled finished thin c shape neck, also SD SH1 & TB-4 pickups- very nice & worth a look. Hey- it's not fender, but they are cool and in terms of the HH Strat style non-Feners are concerned, these are the closest you'll get and a very worthy guitar. Miles above any Kramer Pacer or Jackson, however the inevitable Bridge change to an FR Original would have to happen.

I hear ya about the mods that you made to your guitar too. I'm not a fan of the FR Special bridge, and I wish that Fender would range this guitar back in with a FR Original trem:

Image

I own a '08 MIM Standard Strat Floyd and I have previously owned a '93 MIM Squire Series Strat Floyd (w/Floyd Rose II) and the latter being the nicer guitar. Dont get me wrong, I like my Floyd Strat but there is something that just isn't there and I cant quite 'click' with it:

Image

However mate, all is not lost- Ive been looking at replacing the black Strat with perhaps one of these MIM models:

Image

Imagine this- ditch the bridge in favour of a FR Original. Get rid of the pickups in favour of your own choosing. Now, before we get into the 'But it's not MIA..' discussion, consider this body construction:

Image

Notice the burst on the reverse side of the body. Also bursts on mim were typically 'blacked out' around the tummy cut, but this looks like a very good quality option also good value aswel. Typically MIM are made of up to 8 pieces of wood, yet this 2 piece body looks better than that of the Floyd Rose Classic Strat made years ago.. Considering the price and the obvious rise in body wood quality in these MIM Standard models, It's worth considering a good alternative I'd say ;)

Funny I did look at that very body on ebay not bad it could work with a Blacktop floyd neck for someone.

I know that Floyd Strat you have well just did a rebuild on it a month ago for someone.

I will probably just floyd my American Standard I learned alot and have fixtures now.

If you ever decide to do your American Deluxe it takes an R-9 Schaller Floyd Nut.

I used to play Jacksons I had 3 American Selects Warriors on the road about 5 years ago.
So I know what Im refusing, Im just not into corperations forcing me into choices.
Here is a video of when I was playing them at shows.

It appears that you drooled around a charcoal frost American Standard and wanted putting an original Floyd on it.

This guitar would look better with black plastic parts (especially the pickguard and pickup covers).

Have you thinked seriously about that idea?

My next planned Floyd Rose project is my Standard. I think every Strat I own should have a floyd and they will.

The American Deluxe deserves an HSH configuration.
