I changed the stings on my blacktop , easy job BUT.

Since then it has developed a terrible whining sound on the G string, fretted second and it sounds terrible, playing the B7 chord is an impossibility.

Has anyone any idea what has gone wrong. Any advice would be gratefully recieved. :D

A whining sound? Not sure what you mean by that.

What string gauges did you fit? Sometimes a heavy gauge string doesn't sit right in the nut slot and makes the action at the first few frets way too high. A pic of the guitar showing the tuners and nut might help too ...

9=II gauge.

Its a sort of an out of tune.
Had the guitar to see a technician and he has had a good look at it, apparently i moved the saddle a fraction. He reset it by a fraction, reset the intonations and now its fine.
It could also be me bending the string a little whilst i play the chord?

But it seems fine now.

Never cost a penny ( dime ) for him to look at it. :D :D

The guitar needs a set-up. Changing string gauges can change the curvature of the neck and intonation. Take it to a good luthier and he or she will solve your problem.

I took it to a very reputable luthier, new strings, harmonics/intonations spot on, neck set to the suggested setting as per owners manual, sounds great, my guitar looks new after he had done his work on it. :D
