You could check out the link below to determine whether the Strat you are about to buy is a genuine US made Stratocaster.

http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... ct-dating/

Apart from that, the link I give below might, on the other hand, help you in determining whether your Strat was made in Japan.

Similarly, the link below can be used to determine the origins of a Mexican made instrument.

One last thing, I'd like to say though, is the serial number you've provided though is quite vague. Whenever you're about to buy that Strat though, do double-check to ensure that it's a genuine one and not a fake one that you're about to buy.

Fender's in-house product ID numbers can be used to discern country of origin. Those P/N's beginning with "010" or "011" are assigned to guitars made in Corona, California. P/N's prefixed with "013" and "015" are given to instruments made in Ensenada, Mexico. Fender guitars made by Fuji-Gen in Japan have P/N's starting with "022", "025", and "027". There may be other prefixes as well.

Thanks a lot for your quick answers...

The number i gave is the Fender number of the specific strat i want to buy.

Unfortunetely i don't have the serial number...

Thanks

I just took a spin around the product page and it looks like the "014" product numbers are all MIM - must be a new set of product numbers added to the prior "013" and "015" numbers; that product number is attached to an MIM Standard Strat in black with a rosewood fingerboard.
