Hi guys.

I've been searching through dozens of websites trying to find an answer to this. I have a 1999 USA Richie Sambora Stratocaster. It's the 3 single coil, vintage trem version (Not the Floyd Rose one). I was under the impression that this guitar came with Hot Noiseless pickups. In fact most of the sites say it's hot noiseless.

Here's the reason I doubt that information. I have hot noiseless in another guitar (aftermarket upgrade). The poles on my Sambora are staggered while on the other guitar they're flat. I checked the Sambora schematic on Fenders site, I took the part code and entered it into Google and it came up with Vintage noiseless.

Now I know that vintage noiseless have a gold logo on the cover but when I got the guitar 3 years ago I replaced the covers as the noiseless had worn off. Anyone know of any way to check other than the colour of the wording or does anyone have a Fender catalog from between 1998-2002 when the guitar was available that can check or scan/photograph the spec page?

Also one thing I did notice it the guitar has a 1meg pot which I know comes with the Vintage noiseless while Hot Noiseless are commonly used with 250k.

Any help on this would be great.

Thanks.

Hot Noiseless pickups are hotter.

Unlike the Vintage Noiseless pickups they employ a dual-coil design and ceramic magnets.

Made exclusively for Jeff Beck.

Hi ChromeFace.

Thanks for the reply. I was looking more for info to confirm what pickups are in the Noiseless Sambora rather than an explanation of the difference.

I have opened the guitar up and checked the pickups but there seems to be no identifying marks as to the model of pickup. There is a code but I think that's more for the base part for the pickup and matches both Vintage and Hot Noiseless.

However I did notice something, the bridge pickup has a red wire replacing the normal white or yellow. From checking Google and Ebay neither pickups have this wire.
