Has anyone here ever installed an external 9 volt battery box into there Strat for active pick-ups? If so were is the best location for the 9 volt battery box?

It's also possible to rout the rear side of the body for a battery compartment.

Not having the luxury of either a Clapton or Powerhouse Strat body, [depicted in the post above]..on installing an EMG DG20 pickguard in an American Standard, I removed the center spring from the vibrato and set the battery in that space. I did not want to alter the outside of the guitar. I still don't understand why when Fender did the Powerhouse Strat they put a battery box in the back. That body is already routed for the midboost board like a Clapton. Why not just route the vibrato cavity the same way?
