Just a beautiful guitar. I bought it online from over-seas and was suprised by the beautiful grain which didn't show that well in the original photos.

Soft V neck
Thin nitro finish
Ash 2 piece body

Pickups are DiMarzio Collection singles.

Never saw those.

Nonetheless this guitar has tons of Clapton vibe :P

I have never seen those pickups before either. From what I've read so far tonight, which is not a lot of info, they were made for that series of CIJ guitars. They sounded pretty good today in Guitslinger's hands that's for sure.

From what I've read on another forum the DiMarzio Collections are higher quality pickups than "Duncan Designed" would be.

The DiMarzio Collection guitars and basses are solely made by Fender Japan for the Japanese domestic market.

Hi Blinkers: I've seen these nitro finished ST-54s on certain sellers' websites. Great to see really good photos of one close up at last. It looks gorgeous - nice catch!

Did you buy it from Ishibashi, I wonder? How was the import process - reasonable customer service and such? How long did it take to arrive?

Anyway - congrats! :D

Hey chromeface: interestingly, I've seen this model listed as the ST-54/VSP on websites, including fenderjapan.co.jp . Supposedly, VSP stands for Very SPecial instruments. Sort of.

However, in Blinkers' photo of the neck heel the stamp says DMC ST-54. Presumably DMC means DiMarzio Collection - it's the first time I've ever seen the pickups specified on a production stamp on the timber that way.

I guess it means you are absolutely forbidden to swap out the pups on this guitar!

Cheers - C

He Ceri. I found this on yahoo japan and after discussing it with some guys decided to go ahead and hit the BIN button. I'm happy that I did!

I'm not 100% sold on the pickups yet though. I have a set of Vineham Texas Specials in my Bacchus Classic Series 60's strat and they seem to be a bit warmer and smoother. I haven't taken a look under the hood of this yet tonight but a cap swap might do the trick.

@Blinkers

Bacchus guitars are excellent quality instruments. Deviser has produced a couple of Custom Artist Series replicas in the past, including the BST-GL Eric Clapton Gold Leaf Tribute Strat among others.

This model was manufactured between 1998 and 2003 using genuine Fender USA parts.

Oh that's wild looking!!! lol!!!!

I'm a huge fan of Bacchus Classic Series. So far I've had the 60's strat, BLP-STD-H, BLP-CTM, and the BLP-SP. All are just fantastic!

Have you already played the BST-GL Gold Leaf?

This guitar was part of Bacchus' Vintage series which is no longer produced.

The series included reproductions of other famous artists' axes including Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorius, SRV and Rory Gallagher.

In addition to the BST Gold Leaf Bacchus made also a couple of Blackie replicas.

They can be found :)

Those Vintage Series reissues are pretty sweet too. I haven't had one yet but have seen lots of them around.
