I have an old epiphone strat model(back from when fender owned epiphone) and i cant figure out how old it is, all epiphone links lead to gibson models. The number is X960009129 and it was made in indonesia. Any help would be greatful.

Epiphone was it's own company until Gibson bought it. Gibsons owned it ever since 1957. Fender owns a bunch of brands but Epi was never one of them.

If you send some pics I might be able to help I used to be die hard Gibson for years and when I couldn't afford the gibson modle I would get the epi. I remember Epiphone used to make a strat with a bat wing headstock in the 90's, remember Juliana hatfield playing one at Masquerades in Atlanta back in 1993 and the guitar store down the street selling one about the same time but the previous post is correct epi was independent until Gibson purchased them in 1957

Sorry I wasnt aware that Epiohine was an independent company. But the description is correct, bat wing head with the tip rounded. I would upload a picture of it but i dont know how, but it looks like a standard strat. Solid black gloss paint job with a white pick guard, one volume and two tone, wammy bar, 21 frets, and a white back plate covering the springs.

I’m going to assume that you have a maple neck fret board instead of the rosewood fret board. Now if it was made in Indonesia it is a good possibility that this was made during the time Samick made all of the parts and then were shipped to America so that Epiphone could slap the sticker on the neck (assembled in the USA) if all of this sounds right then it’s a good possibility that the guitar was made between 1993 and 1996 which is when I believe that particular model was made. I have an old friend whose store used to sell Samick guitars and can really give some good insight on this. Now don’t be discouraged you probably wouldn’t believe how many guitar companies Samick has made guitars for and then when assembled had that particular guitar companies name stamped on the head stock. The problem with this is they didn’t keep good records of there serial #’s. Again I’ll try to get in touch with the dealer I know for more info

Im not to sure of the wood type, but the neck is a light almost blonde color, similar to that of a strat. The fret board is a dark brown, but where the color has worn down from being played, it is a light almost maple color.
And yes, there is a sticker on the head that says "100% inspected and assembled in the USA". As to that company that you mentioned, I have never heard of it, and there is no marking on the guitar with that name or any initials that would identify the parts being made by that company.
