I first take my strat to a luthier and after 24h recovers.
I have to report that the pickguard (one fold) rise between the selector and tone 2. (This does not bother me)
The recovered guitar, very few adjustments by luthiers who told me she was very well set, I end up with 9 screws pickguard!
This is a flat, sure, but the problem is that there is no wood in the screw!
On the other hand, he put a spacer under the top rope handle guide!
I find myself with a 9-hole pickguard and a spacer on the throttle, and E strings!

If I understand you correctly, the screw has eaten the wood in the hole so the screw no longer holds the pickguard flat..?
Happens all the time for screws anywhere in the guitar.

The old fix is to tighten the hole with pieces of a match or toothpick.
I've taken the habit of applying rapid epoxy in the hole, just a thin layer on the walls of the hole - it hardens the wood so the screw is tight again.

But: congratulations on the E-strings - playing is a lot nicer with them.

Tootpick with carpenter / wood glue . I won't use epoxy , only wood material is the best , low cost, easy to use .

No, there is no wood or he put the screw (Classic body 57) and it is useless!
I'll have to change the pickguard which now has nine holes!

Pickguard 11 holes

Bring the guitar back to the luthier and tell him you want proper work for your money. He didn´t setup the guitar he messed it up.

All the best,
Robin

isdi, take it back mate.

There's a world of difference between a luthier and a man with a screwdriver.

I came back and the guy apologized, it will give me an 8-hole pickguard identical to mine, and I want the holes correspond with the old!
Incompetence seems to be a rule at home and in alot of areas.
To console myself, I'll go see if I can try one of these MVRI afternoon!

No MVRI the store or I go and they ignore their existence!
I try a Road Worn 50 instead, it was damaged on the body and the neck and the pickguard as well, but they do not make awards for all!

Exposed a guitar like this, what a shame!

It sounds like you mean your original pickguard was warped near the selector switch , so your luthier drilled an extra hole in the pickguard there, to pull the pickguard down , but he didn't realise the body on your guitar was the old shape (for an 8 screw pickguard) that doesn't have the extra wood in that area that an 11 screw pickguard guitar has
So you've ended up with a hole that a screw will not screw into

Take it back and tell him to get another 8 screw pickguard for you for free and put it on

I have no idea what a top rope handle or a throttle is, maybe you could post pictures of them

Ted, I reckon isdi generally does a good job of getting his point across for the most part, but I admit these had me a little stumped too! I figured "top rope handle" meant "string tree" or maybe "strap button" but then realised isdi was also using "throttle" to describe it. So perhaps he means the high e string saddle?

isdi!!! WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT??

Sorry guys, my translator translates badly sometimes!
I mean the string-tee, which holds the two high strings, the guy has some sort of washer underneath to raise it.

In compensation, the guy offered me a set of 54 Vintage PU Alnico3 stagerred Formvar magnet wire. (6,1 , 6,2 , 6,4)
He had me show the PU and interested me, so I accepted his offer and going to retrieve.
What do you think of these pickups?
