It has Texas Special in it right? I know they put Fat 50s in some lately.

I am not a big fan of Texas specials. Played in a band with a gtr player that had 'em in his tele and I didn't like the sound. seemed like he needed a compressor with 'em cause they were so over-saturated. Never had 'em myself so I can't really speak by experience.

I think thats what came in his guitar Im not sure they stuck fat 50s in the Hand Stained American Special.
My other guitarist likes the Texas Special real well.
I like the Standards that came untill 2012 and Hot Alnico 3s alot from Higheway 1s.
I am intersted in the Tex Mex as I think they are the same as Standards but Im not sure.
Havent had a set yet.
I would use a Texas Special also as my sound is a bit more like Slash.
So any single coil of quality through my overdriven stack sounds pretty nice.

I thought they were Texas Specials in the Surf Green one wasn't sure.

I know they rock in my other guitarist guitar.
I would like to hear those Tex Mex I think they are just standards.
They ended up naming the standard humbucker a Tex Mex too.

I am interested in that as well.... I have never owned one, but seriously played a lot of Jimmie Vaughan Strats during a time when I was thinking of picking one up. Three Tex Mex pups with the bridge pup overwound.

I would say it definitely sounded hotter than a MIM Standard, but I never really compared the Tex-Mex with the Texas Specials.

Are they made in Mexico? I know these humbuckers I use all are and they are excellent.
Its my understanding Fender has sent all Humbucker manufacturing to Mexico now.
I had Dimarzio Evolutions and D Activators in my American Deluxe and Highway 1 but I heard that Atomic and i was hooked.

The Tex Mex dont look like the Mexican single coils though more like the American Standard ones

My American Special definately has the Texas Specials. I don't know about CS though. They sound great regardless.
