Pull the neck and we all know what´s really up with your guitar, easy (neck stamps, pocket stamps).

All the best,
Robin

^^^ this is the thing to do.

I hope to be proved wrong, but I'm guessing there's nothing left of the original finish under the black hammered Rustomleum/Hammerite finish. There are a couple of what look like sanding gouges under the paint, one on the upper horn on the front, one in the centre of the back. On the other hand, you don't really need to sand what you're painting over if you're going to put that stuff on top - maybe just a light key, if anything.

The hammered finish looks like it was applied by brush - did they go into the pickup rout or is there some original paint in there too? Could be clues in them there routs!

One other thing, it is really hard to tell from the shot of the back of the guitar, but is there a slight shadow of a filled-in trem cavity there? It might be just reflections and a bit of an optical illustion going on, but there looks like a slight dip over that area and the string ferrules don't look totally in line (the G looks a little prominent).
