Hi,

I'm buying an American Deluxe HSS, the SN is DZ0262971, which are correct for an American Deluxe from the year 2000. The problem is though, this Strat is comming with S1 switching system, SCN pickups (dunno bout the humbucker), and the neckplate has a little curve like this:
http://www.fender.com/guitar-bass-parts ... eck-plate/

Also, the body has a little curve near the neck, where the neck plate is rounded.

So I'm thinking, this is a 2000 neck bolted in a 2004~2009 body? Or there is any chance that this thing is original?

Thanks, greetings from Brazil ;)

The only pic I took from the instrument:

Very beautiful guitar indeed <3

Unless you misread the first digit of serial number then that is what I think as well - a 2000 neck on a later (2004-2009) body.

While the neck shape didn't change, a 2000 American Deluxe neck would have had a regular neck heel instead of the contoured version - Fender didn't switch to the contoured heel until some time during 2002 - so there might be an extra hole in the neck from the original attachment.

One thing that bothers me too, is the presence of the string retainer, and a regular nut instead of a roller nut. There is Am. Deluxe 2000 necks like that?

No, only the Deluxe SSS Strats lack off the LSR roller nut.

Someone had put a neck from a 2000 Deluxe SSS into a post-2004/pre-2010 Deluxe HSS body.

This guitar looks like a partscaster.

So this cannot be valued ($$) as an original Am. Deluxe Stratocaster? ... Other than that, the guitar sounded nice. Got a nice feel too.

The body seems to be Ash, not alder! huhu

I'm actually starting to like this partscaster!

There's nothing wrong with it. Maybe the original neck was bad but the price should reflect the older neck. It looks nice.

American Deluxe HSS Strats made after 2004 were only available with a select alder body.

Premium ash was offered on the 1st generation Deluxe HSSes from the 1998-2003 period.

Yeap, it's indeed an alder body. After disassembly, we figured it out, it's actually a June/2001 American Deluxe SSS Neck, on a 2006 American Deluxe HSS body. The pickguard it's 2006, so I'm assuming it came originally with the body.

Lovely instrument. I have no intent to sell, bought it anyway. In love <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 and already selling my Ibanez.

If you want a "proper" look for your USA DLX HSS buy an LSR nut and remove the EasyGlider (note: a few alterations should be performed on the neck in order to fit the LSR properly).

For optimal tuning stability drop in a mini Floyd Rose bridge and a matching plain backplate.

I think the bridge is actually correct. I don't really care for th LSR that much. The tuning is stable enough without it.
