Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but I saw these at the music show in Germany and see they're up on the product page. Lovely finishes and the HSS with a Floyd is obviously very Sambora-esque and has my attention! ;)

Pretty close - minus the TX Special/PAF Pro config, growing MOP stars and active circuit.

Personally I don't think Fender do enough Cherryburst guitars at the minute. They look WAY nicer than Gibsons or any other make for that matter. I think it'll be Strat number three for me! :)

You can eventually decide to transform the guitar into a Sambora Signature later.

Here are the recipients to make the job done:

Stick two Texas Special singles in the neck & middle and slam a DiMarzio Custom PAF Pro in the bridge. Throw an Eric Clapton Mid Boost circuit, install a 2-way mini toggle switch for active/passive operation and order a custom maple neck with 22 jumbo frets and graduated MOP stars from Warmoth.

Upgrade the Floyd licensed locking bridge with a genuine original Floyd and the stock tuners with die-cast sealed Gotohs w/ pearloid buttons, put some Schaller straplocks... et voilà!

It's unnecessary to rout the body for the Elite PCB, just insert it under the pickguard.

Feel free to note that you'll need to fill your pockets with enough bucks as the upgrades are expensive. If you cannot DIY the upgrades, contact a professional luthier.

Personally I suggest you to keep the guitar stock.

Thanks for that chromeface. I'm a bit of a Sambora obsessive and one of my few regrets in life is not buying a US Sambora Strat back in the day. Alas, I was a poor student then and was in enough debt! I have looked at so many I could probably quote the specs too. My CS is pretty close as well in a lot of ways, so I'll take your advice and keep that as the luxury, bank breaking guitar and get one of these, keep it as stock to play (and dive-bomb) with! ;)
Maybe upgrade the neck though, love those stars! ;)
I actually had the whole guitar specced out with Warmouth, so this will save me money! :)

Well done Fender Mexico!, They really do seem to be launching some great models this year, especially a Fender floyd Strat with the Maple neck/f/board option again at last!, though it would have been even better with 22 frets and the Sambora (MIJ)/American Deluxe contoured neck heel/body join and a solid white body finish (don't like star inlays!), the flame top looks sweet (reminds me of an old MIJ fotoflame hrr strat that I stupidly sold many years ago, though these MIM's are an actual venneer). Do they have the microtilt neck adjustment?, between these and the EVH Striped series I'm seriously tempted if the reviews are positive. :D

I'm considering selling my black HSS Floyd Strat for one of these. Funny, the first thing I thought of was fotoflame back in the day. Considering the quality of flame is higher than my Strat ultra also makes me want one.

I'd gladly have the cherry burst maple neck, but I'm also liking the tobacco burst rosewood also.

I'd say they would have Microtilt on these also :D

@Nick73

If you're a fond of the shaved neck heel, just shim it with a jigsaw and drop in an asymmetrical neckplate. Also you'll probably need to chamfer the lower cutaway for easy access to the upper registers.

The Sambora Strat is modeled after the HRR models.

The Custom Shop version of the guitar was built by Todd Krause, Richie's personal luthier during that period.

Todd was chiefly responsible for the USA Black Paisleys, which featured the switchable active midboost circuit and Texas Special pickups - as opposed to the regular Japanese production models.

I'm loving that Fender have put a variation of this model however I still believe that it deserves an MIA version too with a Floyd Rose 'Original' bridge (instead of the inferior 'special'), Jumbo Frets, and PAF Pro bridge and Fat 50's mid & neck pickups.

Surely if there is a market for a B-bender tele, then there is a bigger market for this.
