I mean, in an Am Dlx HSS some of your pickup positions are combining one of your single coil pickups with one coil from your humbucker

Forgive me for quoting myself, but it seems that this statement might not be true. It looks like in the newer American Deluxe HSS Strats, they never split out the humbucker coils. See this: http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l360/drew986/FenderControlDescriptionSheet001.jpg

Well, anyways I've decided to start a new thread dedicated to this topic: http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=87113

Thanks for all your help to this point Martian!

hello - newbie so please accept advance apologies for repeating questions that I may have found answers to by more intelligent searching...

I have an American Deluxe with 3 N3 pups and stock (S1?) switching. I'm not crazy about some of the sounds with the S1 in the down position. I there a way to get the bridge and neck pickup in parallel to approximate a stock tele with both pickups on?

Again, thanks in advance!

Welcome!

Yes. There are several options but the simplest is for you to install either a mini-switch or a push pot. You'd wire your neck pickup to the switch so that when you have your pickup selector switch set to the bridge pickup, the neck pickup would be activated by engaging the mini-switch or push pot.

You're quite welcome.

Thanks! Another S1 type switch sounds a lot simpler than rewiring the 5-way switch and will keep the pickguard stock.
