Hey Guys,

I know some of you here and put together many a Strat type gitter.
I currently play a 94 SRV strat but would like a dif flavor.
Was wonder if there is any experience out there with a mahogany body and maple neck set up in SSS config. Maybe Fralin Blues specials. Hardtail and 6150 fret wire.
Possibly a chamber body?? Will use Warmoth for the parts.

Thanks for your input.

The mahogany/maple combination would likely create a relatively "bright" guitar, sonically speaking.

Hmmm......I was under the impression that mahogany was a warmer tone and of course maple for the neck would be bright. Thought it would be a good balance.....

When you say "bright" would you think in not a pleasant way???

It depends.

I'd be prepared for that eventuality by careful pickup selection and having a contingency plan that included installing a base plate on the bridge pickup and wiring it to the lower tone control (just in case).

I would wire it that way for sure. Part of the plan. Also I like the plate idea for the bridge pup. Will be doing that on my SRV strat on the next string change too....

Thanks Arjay
