Well, I have been all about my Highway One strat for a long time now, but my 2012 American Standard Tele has been blowing my mind for a long time now so I decided to give the new American Standard strat a good go before writing them off and I am loving the feel and the tone. I decided to make a jump. My dealer has about 20 in stock and I am just trying to decide on color and fretboard.

Any suggestions? I am thinking maple fretboard and definitely an H-S-S coonfiguration.
Either going for Triburst, Black or Jade Pear Metallic.

+1 on the Jade. It won't be around forever; black and sunburst will.

Yep! That always seems to be the case. Just try to find something unique in the Fender line that the company is currently touting....like an American Vintage '56. Rotza ruck, Phril!! :?

I finally ordered my strat from the guys I know in Vermont. Andy and his friend lived in Philly. They moved up to Burlington to snowboard and then started working for this music store. I use them a lot, they are real tone hounds and picky about gear so I trust them when I order. He proved that to me when he picked out my Tele which has become my current favorite guitar.

This is the one I ordered. But, I did tell my buddy that if he has a really nice HSS strat in Jade with Rosewood fretboard, I will take that instead.

Beautiful, but I prefer the traditional burst and maple fretboard. :)

The sunburst finish and maple neck are a very popular combination for which the original '54 Strats are famous for.

Hey guys. New around here. Saw a post a few days ago from a store here in the UK. I am looking to get my first Fender. I really like the look of the new Standard Strat HSS plus top with Floyd Rose in cherry flame with maple fretboard. I went to my local store and left my details he will call me when they are available. Does anyone know exactly how long this will be?
The retailer I first found out by have the new standard Strat available from next week but the Floyd versions not available for atleast 1-2 weeks. My retailer said it could be months? Just an idea so I can expect a call.

Which is exactly why i want one. Ive been looking on ebay for a few months now and been close to getting a 1995 Mexican Sambora Strat but always outbid last minute. Id prefer to pay a little more for a brand new guitar than something thats nearly 20 years old! I was hoping Richie would release a new signature model but hasnt so this is why i picked the new Strat with Floyd. Ive already got a MusicYo Kramer Jersey Star but would like a Strat to do more bluesy things.

You have to learn the ins and outs of the EBay trigger pullers or go the asking rate. When I saw something I really wanted I did just that rather than run the risk of loss in that stupid game. The juice was worth the squeeze.
