Had a question, would appreciate any help.
I bought a used fender american deluxe gold tremelo on ebay, to replace the stock chrome one on my 2005 Am. Deluxe.
Pics of other gold ones I have seen, the blocks are a nice solid, smooth glossy surface. The blocks on the one I bought are very rough and full of pores...did I get a fake or does anyone else notice this?
Are there fakes out there as far as gold am. deluxe parts, that anyone knows of?

sure man, there's all sorts of cheap aftermarket products for most of the popular guitars.

It took me a while to find it, I never even seen any aftermarket parts for this. A guy on ebay said "it was sold to him as genuine" :?

I just wanted to know if anyone knows if the american deluxe gold tremelos have blocks that are porous like that?

Ah-ha: we've seen that axe on this forum before, haven't we? Love that finish with the tortie pickguard. The chrome string tree must be bugging the hell out of you, though...?

Sorry, can't help on the block thing: just wanted to say nice things about your guitar 8)

Thx again. Ha ha, its funny, I had to keep my eye out for all the gold hardware for a while and was not easy to come by the deluxe gold locking tuners, the 50th ann gold neck plate or the vintage knob. But, when it comes to that string t, I think theres a whole bunch available everyday on ebay and I'm lazy about it  I know it makes no sense, lol

Hey Joe, I picked up a used Squier Strat last year and did the gold hardware change. I'm not sure offhand but I can find out where I got the gold string trees. The only pieces that are not gold are the pickup screws. I'll look up my invoices and try to post the links. I don't remember if the trem block was shiny or porous, I only remember that it was well made and fit perfect - since the only way you would see that part is if you keep your back plate off, I wouldn't worry too much unless it affects how it works/sounds.

Thx Stoni,
Scanman thanks for the reply, I was speaking specific to that model, It doesn't effect the way it plays. I'm speaking of the string guide blocks on top. Ive been adding all american deluxe parts only, trying to keep it an authentic deluxe, thats all, model integrity.
