Ok folks, I know this has been spun over time and time again but how can I keep my floating strat trem in tune for the majority of it's usage?

I make sure everything is well lubricated before gigs/after string changes, but I am wondering if I can make it stabler still without modding anything.

Cheers guys

Sam

My Strat is set up with a full floating bridge and stays in tune for song after song with plenty of bending and whammy use. But, I've already explained on this forum how to achieve rock solid tuning on a Strat. You kind of answered your own question by stating you know it's already been covered on this site. Use the search function and dive in. Like anything else, you'll have to study what's been posted and separate the wheat from the chaff, but I guarantee you the answer's here.

There is also a little item called a tremsetter... It replaces a tremolo spring and forces the tremolo to go back to the exact spot after usage. Helps prevent the springs from stretching and causing a problem.

And sometimes it really depends on the guitar. I have a few guitars that are just bulletproof in terms of tuning stability, no different than a few others that are much more sensitive. I've owned and performed setups on hundreds of guitars... and while it's true that there are a lot of things you need to do to make sure you'll have tuning stability, some guitars just don't want to hold tune while others barely change.

Do you have a 2 post or 6 screw bridge. Each is slightly different in terms of setup.
