I've got an '88 Rastan. I wonder what the first serial number was?

Wake up the dead....hello from Los Angeles. Here's my 1988 (the very early ones with DiMarzio machine heads). The guitar is heavy, and scalloping is major deep as you can see even for an early model!

Love the (surf?) green!

Surely the saddles should be the bent steel type, though? Noticed that with OP's original photos as well. I'll have to have another look at my Rising Force video, where it shows close-ups of all his gear at the end.

He has incredible skill, but I don't think I'd get on with that fretboard. I fret quite hard and suspect every note would be sharp! Plus, of course, I could never play like YJM anyway!

The American Standard 2-point pivot bridge/saddles are correct for earlier production Malmsteen Strats, as well as American Standard string glide (string tree). They didn't use the vintage type bent-steel tremolo system until the 2nd generation model was updated in '98 along with the late 60s big CBS headstock, and to the current period with the 70s 'bullet' headstock..

Thanks 80sguy. Sounds like a normal AmStd with a scalloped neck, then?
