Hello everybody! :)
I'm french so excuse my poor english level...
I want to census all the USA Malmsteen guitars 1st version all over the world, if possible. Fender staff told me they don't know how many guitars were built between 1988 and 1997. So I think the best solution is to ask to all owners to share and post a pic of their strat and the year of production...
I hope a lot of you will post their beauty...
Here are mine:

From the looks of this post, maybe you should post this over on the French Side  Nice collection  even if it is a bit one sided.

At any rate, I like it better with that small headstock. And I admit, I had no idea they'd done Malmsteen sigs in all those colours.

Still don't think I want one, though. Sorry...

Cheers - C

AFAIK all of the production YM Strats were fitted with the vintage-spec 6-screw trem bridge......

:?

I have to say I like the 70s pegheads on these the best.
I played them and I just dont get the scalloping it just feels stange to me.

Ceri, Malmsteen strats signature was and is available in 3 different colors: vintage white, sonic blue and candy apple red with maple or rosewood neck.
The aztec gold you can see above is a custom body not made by Fender. I love this color with a maple neck...

Out of curiosity, has the entire Malmsteen sig line up always had a scalloped neck ??

I would however like to try the YJM Dimarzio's in one of my builds... Hmmm :?:

Yes, all Malmsteen signature strats have scalloped necks. Scallop is deeper on the 1998-2006 models than the older ones. The post 2006 Malmsteen have a more scalloped fretboard than previous ones!

Yeah I tried a later model it was mega scalloped. I only like scalloped potatos not fretboards. My friend is a huge Yngwie fan he can play all his songs.
His band opened for us and I loved watching but it seems to be more of a guitarist taste here.
The audience liked AC/DC and Aerosmith better.
Myself Im a Joe Perry or Jimi Hendrix guy but I sure love watching my friend play his Yngwie strat. He can rip thise songs out with some serious skill.
He is left handed too.
