Simple question, before I buy, will an eight hole pick guard fit into an eleven hole body? Want to put the Seymour Duncan Antiquity loaded pick guard into my Jeff Beck strat.

thanks

It should be fine.

Looking at the two pick guards, you may have to drill on new hole but other than that, it should be close. Just remember, not all pick guards are the same, buy a Fender and you should be fine.

I've done it a few times, and you will have to redrill 3 holes usually. Make sure you get the right size drill bit.

Re-drilling needed and a bit of luck.

Be sure to use an aul. It's a cheap tool that you can purchase at any hardware store or home center. Basically like an ice pick with a very sharp tip. Use this to mark the center of the holes in the guard once you have the guard in position. Center the very tip of the aul in the center of the hole in the pickguard and then lean on it a bit to make an impression in the finish that the drill can follow when drilled.

Also suggest that you use some blue painters tape to hold the guard in position so that it does not shift as you mark the holes with the aul. Then, naturally, remove the PG so you don't damage it while drilling!

btw - if you are doing this to a vintage strat, you're making a big mistake.

Good luck!
