I'm looking at buying a 1997 Jeff Beck Edition w/ 3 singles, odd color lite metallic green, lsr nut, schaller tuners. The strange thing is there is no "Jeff Beck" signature on the headstock. Has anyone pics or specs for the 1997 Jeff Beck edition. Also, has anyone ever seen a Jeff Beck Edition without the signature on the headstock?

Perhaps you mean a Strat Plus for which the original Jeff Beck Strat was based on.

The JB model differed from the Plus for its huge baseball bat neck and the humbucking Lace Gold Dually in the bridge position.

The guitar had also a push-push switch which turned off the front coil from the humbucker.

It does sound like a Strat Plus. These are great instruments and I highly recommend them. I had an '87 Strat Plus and foolishly parted with it for a woman. Yes, a woman. Don't ask. It's a long and awful story.

On the flip side, I later purchased a 2001 EC Strat, which I can proudly say I still have. I have a new woman, too. :D

Check Xhefri's pages, plenty of info on the +models - and some on the Jeff Beck Signature, too.

Technically, a 1997 JB Strat should have 4 pickups. 2 Gold Lace Sensors neck and middle and then 2 God Lace strapped together in the bridge to make a Dually. There would be a push button for the bridge pickups to split one off. In 2001 the upgraded (down graded???) the JB Strat to 3 single noiseless Fender pickups. The early ones looks like this (circa. 1991-2001) and had a really fat neck. they all would have Jeff BEck signature on the headstock. If it does not have that it could be, as pointed out, just a Strat Plus:

Found an early Jeff Beck Strat in the ultra-rare Mystic Black finish!

There are two magazine ads showing El Becko cradling that black beauty. Too bad the listing was gone from Ebay.
