I recently purchased an Eric Johnson Strat.....what can I say? It's freakin beautiful!

Now, I don't want to sound totally stupid and considering this is my first 'real' Strat I'm hoping to get away with this one.

Does anyone else think the trem is particularly stiff?

Does it need adjusted?

I'm no weakling but...........

Cheers

Hi Fishpig, welcome to the Forum.

I've sometimes played my friend's EJ and love it. Great guitar - top of the factory range, to my taste.

I can't quite remember, does it come with all five springs attached to the trem block? If so, you could remove two of them and then tighten the two screws on the spring claw till it brings the back of the bridge back down to where it was before you took the springs off. That's how to soften the trem action.

Cheers - C

Cheers Ceri,

Yeah I thought I would have to remove springs. I'm going to try and get used to it as it is, if not I will remove one or two springs. I love the height of the trem arm from the strings, very comfortable. I've got the 2 tone sunburst with maple fretboard and it is a thing of beauty.....even before you play it. Love the neck and it sounds beautiful through an all valve setup.

Regards

Kevin
