Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a 2008 american standard strat
just wondering, the neck pickup on my old crappy MRW was very full of treble, and the bridge was the warmer tone, but now with my strat, the neck pickup ( far left side of pickup switch) sounds warm and the bridge is has more treble, is that the way it should be? :P

Hello Camcowx7,

Sounds right to me.

Best of luck with your new strat.

Cheers.

Yes, the neck position in general is much warmer than the bridge, and the pickups should reflect this natural tonal difference.

Try picking the strings at the bridge, then by the neck. You'll hear the difference unplugged.

Yes, most strats have a ton of treble from the bridge pickup. Callaham Guitars makes a plate that you can mount ot the bottom side of the pickup to tone it down a bit.
