In this thread i asked a couple months ago about the SRV Signature guitar as a complete noob... and you guys were SO helpful that it convinced me to get one and i have not regretted it one second ever since.

Thread:

Well i practiced and i practiced since i got it and this is where i am at the moment:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnHCME2b ... e=youtu.be

I must sound horrible to all you seasoned guitarplayers but for me this is... wow. i never would have imagined that i could arrive there. I practiced since the day the guitar arrived around 2 hours every day till my brain was tired and the fingers fell almost off :P

This is just a big thank you to the whole community and everybody who cared to invest time and give me tips and their knowledge.

Thank you guys so much but i gotta get back and work on my bends and pretty much everything else ;)

Holy cow!!!

If this is where you are after honestly playing for 6 months ONLY  , then this is an awesome achievement after such a short time!!

Have you played any other instrument before starting on the guitar?
Did you have anything to do with music other than just listening to it?

I think that's awesome!!
Of course, it's not perfect but you've come a looong way in such a short time.

If you keep up your passion, you're gonna rock the house soon!!

I just fired the guitarist out of my band because after 10 years of playing he couldn't even bend up to the right note! Well, okay, your bending notes still sound kinda technical and a little lifeless without vibrato but man, you hit most of the notes already! Very good!!

Man, I wouldn't even have THOUGHT about playing an SRV tune after 6 months!!

I was honestly surprised about your video and all I can say is: keep up the good work.

Hi Lancezh,

Read, watched & listened what's happened since your original question. GREAT!

Play on, play loud.

Thank you so much for your kind words, i still think it all sounds $@!& but compared to how i started i'm so amazed. I don't really think that i'm exceptionally talented or anything, the reason for me being able to advance that fast is that i played Rocksmith when i started like crazy. I only didnt play 1 day in the past 6 months due to being ill and the other days i practiced at least 1 hour up to 3 sometimes...

In hindsight, rocksmith is an AMAZING tool to develop agility and being able to play blind because it always pushes you beyond of what you're capable at the moment, you dont have TIME to look at the fretboard... And for a beginner this is amazing, theres not much stuff i feel i can't do now because of lacking agility. And that's just amazing.

That said i'll continue doing that, and well steviesnacks.com was also a great help, i just tried one of the advanced lessons for laughs, and was surprised how good i'm actually progressing in them if i just keep at it. And then there's the thing with bends, i got really strong in my hands due to the constant practice, these are .11's and i have no problem whatsoever bending them 2 notes up on the 12th fret or even 2 1/2 note.

I guess that has become a motto now, i'm working currently on Tightrope which is a whole different ballpark but i'll see where i'm ending up.

Thank you all for your kind words!

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a first step, Grasshopper. Keep walking until you can cross the rice paper without leaving your mark.
