Hi guys,

Just picked up a 2010 Mex Strat in sunburst with a Rosewood neck for my grandson, the guitar is fitted with a full set of of Parchment coloured plastics, it also came with a spare set of Mint coloured plastics. The seller said that the guitar came new with the mint plastics, is this correct.

Very possible, don't know why seller would make that up. IMO parchment would look better with sunburst finish.

Depending on the model, yes. I had a Classic Players 60's strat that came with Mint PG.

I dont think its a classic as it has standard Fender tuners and not the vintage style tuners.

Sounds like a Standard Strat, yes? They come with parchment pickguard.

Photos would help

The seller stated it came with the mint plastics.
The guard on the guitar is a creamier in colour than shown in the pic and the mint guard is actually greener.

Parchment. The mint green must have been a spare the previous owner had

One thing is sure, the two pick guards have different locations for the screw holes between the neck and middle pups. Remove the pick guard and look for an extra hole. If the other pick guard was installed at one time, there might be an additional hole in the body.

I like the mint better with this guitar, gives it a real '60s look.

I must be getting old(er) I never noticed the differences in the pick guards. I just checked and no extra holes in the body so it looks like it came with the parchment guard. I cant understand why the seller would make up such a thing, unless it was to make me think it was a more expensive model. I was taking the guitar anyway.

Many thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate it.

+1

The mint pickguard is the '62 style.
