Hey people, new guy here. I've had an acoustic guitar for a year or so, and I recently decided to upgrade to an electric guitar since that's where my real musical interest lies. I've always had a keen interest in learning electrical guitar. Anyways, I was searching on eBay for a good deal and I ran across a 2007 MIM SSS Strat. It's a really good looking guitar and it's said to be in great condition as it's only been played a few times. I'll post pics of it below. My spending limit on a guitar was $300, but when I saw this beauty I just had to dish out the extra $30 and snatch this. Anyways I just want to know if you experts think I got a good deal or if I got ripped off? It was bought from a guitar store in Colorado also.

In all I spent about $400, and that includes a new amplifier and other assorted accessories. Feedback please?

Nice, did it originally come with that pickguard. I didn't know they made mexico ones with tortise shell... Anyway, it seems like a good deal, but how does it sound to you. BTW it looks killer.

As I said I was planning on spending $300 max, so it seemed like I got a good deal. I'm not sure what the actual store value for it is, so it's hard for me to determine.

If I'm not mistaken I think the tortoise pickguard suggest this is a Roadhouse Strat, no?

If so, the street prices for these seem to be about $550 new, so $300+ sounds like remarkable value, assuming there's nothing wrong with it. Does the vendor claim it is actually new, or had a careful previous owner?

Looks like a great deal to me. What amp did you get?

the model is a 2007, so it's only a year old. With that said the guitar was sold from a guitar shop, and based on the given pictures it seems to be in mint condition. Also as for the amp I just got very small 10G 10W Fender Frontman for now since I was low on money but i'll probably upgrade to a Frontman 25R soon.

I would probably value that at $600-$800. But that's just my opinion. I would say that you got a fantastic deal there. That's certainly a fine looking beast!

If you love playing it you got a great deal, if you only like playing it you got a bad deal and soon GAS will show it's ugly head and you will be in the market for another new guitar. I hope you love your new axe.
