Thank you, Doc.

Noiseless pickups are definitely way to go for me.

I was reading on forums that Fender Strat Eric Clapton Artist neck was changed from the beginning from late 80's.

Before it was thinner V, now its chunkier or thicker with profile more to C than V.
Is it true?
I played on one from 2006 and it doesnt feel like slim soft V to me...
It was also not so slim like American Deluxe Soft V, it feels thicker.
The fact is, that I played it only couple of seconds...

Thanks.

I can't comment on that. I've got an '89 Pewter which is about enough for me in that line. I have had no cause to handle the more recent issues. Keep in mind that there is a certain amount of hand finishing on these necks and every single one of them is going be ever ever so slightly different from its fellows.

There are a some Fenders with thicker necks that are not part of the Atist Series.

Classic Series '70s Strat
Classic Series '50s Strat
Classic Players '50 Strat
American Deluxe V-neck Strat
Vintage Hot Rod '62

There are others.

The American Deluxe V-neck has noiseless pups.

Classic Series are the best bang for the buck!

I agree. I'd been on the hunt for a strat with a thicker neck, rosewood fretboard, 9.5 radius and 43mm nut width. Very hard (impossible) to find with all four components. I really didn't want to give up the rosewood fretboard. The Eric Johnson was very close, but the radius is 12 and it just doesn't feel right to me on a strat.

Then I tried the Classic Series '70s strat and loved the chunky u-shape neck with the 7.25 radius. Feels great in my hand and the 7.25 radius also "feels" wider in my hand, so I don't miss the 43mm nut width.

Classic Series '70s Strat in Olympic White with a rosewood fretboard.....coming soon!
