Last summer my parent's got me a strat at a flea market. I don't know too much about this strat. It has 3 single coils, it looks like its an american made, and it looks like it was made in the 70's-80's. Now this strat was missing its tremolo arm so I bought a replacement strat tremolo arm but it wouldn't fit in my bridge. Any solutions?

Fender now manufactures three or four different trem bridges for a Strat based on the model type and country of origin. You need to determine precisely which guitar you have and shop accordingly.

perhaps if you posted a pic of your guitar the good folks of the forum could help you positively identify it and you could get the right arm for it. :)

American is 10/32
imports could be either 5mm or 6mm
whats the SN# on the guitar, this could help narrow it down for ya.

Since you don't know what kind of Strat it is...why not just take it into a music store and they will be able to tell you what the country of origin is and oh might even order the correct one for you. Just sayin...

I would take it to a music store, but unfortunately the closest music store to me is 2 hours away :-/ the serial number on the guitar is MN545295, I would have posted a few photo's but my laptop doesn't have a slot for an SD card :( I'll get an SD to USB converter and post photo's as soon as possible!
