http://imageshack.us/a/img203/3909/stratpick1.jpg Heres another one also. I ickup this 04 MIM Strat and its been modified. It has Fender locking tuners, steel saddles, big brass block and was told a American Strat pickguard so when I got it home I pulled it and it looks like a Diamondback humbucker but the single coils look MIM standard fare but the 5-way switch is stickered with 51993 with 0335 under it and this crazy wiring job. It does scream and sound awesome though. Any help would be awesome. Thanks

The first picture, I see a cap on the tone pot and a treble bleed circuit on the volume pot. Are you confused by the large capacitors?

The second picture looks like a typical HSS set of pups. In fact, it looks like both pictures are of the same guitar.

I take it that you've never seen any guitar wiring before, these are both extremely common circuits. :|

I've had 4 mim Strats and a few Squires and none of them have ever had those tone caps or bleed caps. Ive never had a American Strat before. I got on ebay to look at loaded American pickguards to see how they were wired and to compare pickups and didn't see any of those types of caps either. is this standard stuff for American pickguard ? Do you think this was done in a shop ? What about the single coils, MIM coils or American coils ? Thanks for all the info.

It's just someones personal preference in caps, not standard in any guitar really. Lots of choices for caps these days. That's really the only difference compared to a standard/common circuit, the choice of cap type. Yes, the single coil pups look like MIM Standard ceramic pups, not American.

BTW, 2112 seriously rocks! One of my favorites of all time. "We have assumed control...." 8)
