Looked at this guitar today at GC. It really needs cleaning to make it nice. Lots of crud on it in all the crooks and crannies. Here are some pics of it. I am wanting to go back this weekend and make an offer on it but do not want to give them more than it is worth. I know it has the wrong pick guard on it. Seems to have the correct push push volume button and tone buttons.

Check the pics and see if there is anything that stands out as wrong or needing looked at closer let me know, PLEASE.

Okay, man, that's tons of pics, but the big question is - what are they asking for it?

I don't mind the pickguard either, that's a non-issue for sure.

Thanks for your reply Dennis. I would change the pick guard just to make it look niceer

Well, since I am new here I did not know the rules about "What its worth threads" so I thought I would post the pics and see if someone gave their opinion on it. He said it does come with the hardcase but was not sure if it had the case candy with it or not.

It seems to have quite a bit of oxidation on the metal for a five year old guitar. I would think you should get a pretty good price because of that. I have a '67 Guild that doesn't have that much oxidation.
Did they have the compound radius neck in '08? That's the one think I really like on my '10 Am Dlx.

Pickguards are easy to replace... I really like the LSR nut. Wonder if they are worth it?

Based on the serial number it appears to be a 2008 American deluxe strat. They've been selling for about an average of $1,200 on eBay. Based on condition it may be more or less. But it all goes back to what your willing to pay for it.

Hope this helped.

Guitar Center's used gears section is the best place to find the best used price.

Dennis they are asking $800 for the guitar. I am going to check it again and see what I can do to get it a little cheaper.

I was thinking it was pretty grungy too but I think I can clean most of that up with a little elbow grease. As far as the compound neck, I am not sure but I don't remember this one having it. I will have to do some more research on that one. Thanks for bringing it up, it gives me one more tidbit of knowledge to file away. 8)

No compound radius neck on this series- although this maybe the last year before they introduced them

I have been thinking about it, and I believe it didn't have the compound radius on the neck. Maybe I should have them pull one of them down and let me get my hand s on it too so I can see what that is all about. I have read a lot of favorable comments on that type of neck.
