I have a 70's stratocaster and i have been having a few issues with.

I sprayed some electronic cleaner in to no avail.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Only 2 solution ; You fix the switch ; with good contact cleaner ,cheap one do not work sometime. Better to remove pickgard to good access to switch's contact.

OR

Replace the 5 way , easy to find on the web and many guitar store.

Did you look under the pickgard ? Broken wire ? It is 40 years switch ....

If you have to replace the switch keep the old one in safe place, this help to keep the value.

there are low quality contact cleaner that can't clean a very dirty contacts AND you must move the switch arm at leat 15 time to clean contact with the cleaner. Not only spry and forget.

But old switch can also be completely worn out.

You need good contact cleaner WITH lubricant ,

MG Chemical is good , $13 for 12 oz. Caig Deoxit is better $20 for 5 oz more than two time expensive !!!! In Canada.

I have also cheap Radio Schack cleane but it work when not very dirty . Cheap and do not wort the expense
