I own this strat from a couple of years.I like the look, the neck, the resonance of the wood
but not the TexMex Pickups.. and the lack of tone of bridge one.
So, I replaced them with Peter Florance Woodoo st50 that I supposed to be the right choice for this guitar. I wired them to get the tone at the bridge and a push pull for putting in parallel mode the middle and the bridge pks.
I'm very satisfied of the work expecially of the last option (parallel mode) that gives a good rock boost whith mid/hi gain setting.
I would like to have opinions about TexMex and my choice and how to get the best sound from
this kind of Strat.
Thanks!

I owned one of those for a while and I will say I had the exact same problem....

I did a little research and finally decided to go for the CS Fat 50's .... it certainly sorted it out...

Great guitars, but the choice of the stock PU's were a little disappointing for me.

The Van Zandt true vintage are pretty good too.

I really like the Tex-Mex pups in the RW 60s Strat. I put a base plate on the bridge pup to beef it up a little, and a good steel bridge block was a nice improvement also. The pups aren't always the problem.
