I find it amazing that people are advising to change a whole trem rather than just spend a few pennies on shorter screws, or even 5 minutes with a grinder.

You'd be surprised what taking just a millimetre off the height of those screws can do to the feel - it's one of the first things I do when I get a new vintage type trem, transforms it from a palm-mashing torture device to a smooth usable piece of kit.

Make sure when you replace your trem to know the width and the screw type 6, vintage etc... even though the Vintage trem and your trem look alike, they are not the same dimensions.
Gotoh/Wilkinson does make one that has the screw holes made to fit either.
To save some guesswork just call at StewMac or whomever and ask them what you should go with ..

Excellent advice. I will give them a call. Last thing I want to do is order the wrong part.

I still may try the shorter screw option first. Sure would be cheaper and easier.

+1

Use a Dremel tool with a grinding bit to shorten the offending screws then polish up the ground ends with some crocus cloth to remove any burrs.

There are various solutions, personally changing the saddles from the bent steel ones is playing with the sound of the Strat so that is not really what I would do..
Garnted a replacement Trem is pricey so the least expense is to replace the adjustment screws with shorter ones or file them down.
I have done the former so that works well .....
Hmmm...... Decisions.........Decisions......... :?

Pretty simple: to give options!

Not everybody can cut a tiny screw without busting the thread!
Using the busted screw can bust the saddle as well!

I rather tend to suggest to exchange parts rather than fooling around with them.

Change the screws, change the saddles, change the whole trem system, those are the options unless someone has good experience with correcting these parts himself.

I find it rather shocking that people tend to fiddle around with tools (maybe even without proper knowledge) and suggest that to others without even knowing about their experiences. I see that a lot on forums.

The busted guitars sold on many platforms speak for themselves!

I have corrected this problem on guitars in the past a couple of different ways. On one fender and I don't remember what model it was now I simply went to the Guitar Center and purchased some shorter screws. On another that I couldn't find screws with the same screw pitch I made a small aluminum block, drilled and tapped it and then place it in my bench vise. I then screwed the screws all the way though leaving the amount to be cut sticking out and cut them off with a dremel tool and abrasive wheel. When doing it this way you can leave the allen wrench engaged while cutting the opposite end to keep the screw from rotating. Either way I don't see any need to buy new saddles.
