I recently picked up a very used Fender Highway One Strat and am finding the height adjustment screws for the saddles will ultimately shred my right hand. Due to a tremor I am forced to rest my hand on the bridge with a bit of pressure to try to steady my hand. Can anybody point me in the right direction to get shorter adjustment screws for the stock bridge OR different bridge saddles that might be better to begin with that would also be more comfortable?

You can cut and file these screw , the bottom end . Be sure you never need longer screw in future. I do the job few times.

Don't cut too short .

I'd likely cut off my finger.

Google to the rescue: http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/screws_bridge.htm

Still open to any suggestions for a more comfortable saddle.

Muuuuch cheaper to just buy standard allen-headed set screws from any of the bazillion online fastener companies, just find the thread size and you can get whatever length you require for pennies. Maybe even free if you ask for samples.

If that doesn't work there is always locating the original ashtray...
Actually all Vintage strat trems used to have a cover...which was specifically for the shredded palm effect...... ( Heavy metal shredders don't need them.... )

I'd simply replace it with a Wilkinson or exchange the saddles for modern ones.

I had the same problem at first, when I got my first strat with vintage saddles but I very quickly adapted without cutting the screws.
Since you have the problem with your hand, that's probably no option, so I'd simply replace the saddles or the entire trem.

There isn't any. Fender's bridge cover only fits the vintage bridges with 2-7/32" string spacing.

Your best bet is to just change the bridge and ditch the vintage saddles. Sorry about the issue with your hand but I have no issues with my picking hand and can't stand vintage saddles for the very same reason.

A new bridge may be the best way to go. I started thinking about the ashtray cover and realized it wouldn't work for palm muting so it's a no-go.

Can anybody recommend a more comfortable bridge that would be a drop-in replacement without any mods? If you have a link or part number that would me much appreciated.

Thanks!!

Again go to the www.wdmusic.com link, look at Wilkinson and just Google Strat replacement trem Bridges.
You can go to www.StewMac.com or www.LMI.com

Search .... There's a lot of options ...

Thanks, will do. In essence I'm a Fender newbie. Wasn't sure if this one had the equivalent of a Standard Fender trem or not.

Make sure when you replace your trem to know the width and the screw type 6, vintage etc... even though the Vintage trem and your trem look alike, they are not the same dimensions.
Gotoh/Wilkinson does make one that has the screw holes made to fit either.
To save some guesswork just call at StewMac or whomever and ask them what you should go with ..
