Hello all Fender Lover's amd Experts!

I am just getting into playing and collecting some nice vintage Fender's. Sweet guitars for sure! I wondered if anyone out there can help me with questions about a 1998 American Stratocaster Deluxe I just bought. It was sold to me as 100% original and it appears to be. I am pretty sure 1998 was the 1st year that Fender starting making them, from what I have read. The serial number on the neck is DN805300.

I have seen pictures of several other 1998 Strat Deluxe's, but mine only has "Noiseless" printed on the bridge pick up. The other 2 pickup's look old and original, but no writting on them. The bridge also looks to be 1998 origina, but the tremo bar that came with it has threads and screws in. I'm not sure if a pop-in one would work with the bridge or not. Maybe if 1st year of production at Fender, maybe some of the Deluxe's were not all the same?

Anyone out there that can maybe help answer my questions about the guitar, or point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!
Dan

Hello Kennbarbie,

The pop-in bar should work.
Some people loose the original and
end up with the screw in.

On my noisless pickups the word noiseless
has worn completly off one cover and partially
off the others.

By the way what color did you get.

Cheers.

Thanks for the information, Mr. Bill.

The color of mine is transparent (see thru finish) dark cherry red in color. Not sure what the Fender name is for the color.

The guitar looks it's age, almost dead mint and hardly played, so I'm a little confused why the gold "noiseless" lettering is not on the neck and middle pickups.

Might have to take the pickgaurd off and check out what it looks like inside. But, not sure what I should be looking for.... Can anyone out there to tell me about what to look for under the hood?

Any more info or advise about my couple of questions, about my newly aquired 1998 Strat Deluxe, is much appreciated.

Thanks Fender Fans!
Dan
