I just bought a mexican Strat for $250. I don't what year or model Strat I have. All I know is that it has active electronics which are controlled by turn the first tone knob to an on or off position. I know it was mfg'ed in Mexico. It has a pearloid pickguard and is some shade of light blue. The serial number is MN9351345, if this helps at all. I trying to determine the value of the guitar and wondering if I paid too much for.

Hello Zemagaui,

$250 for a mex strat in nice condition,
seems like a good deal.

What model you have, I cannot say,
maybe things were upgraded on it by
its former owner.

Cheers.

I always thought the Big Block was a cool strat. Out of production now IIRC.

I have two 2004 American Standard strats. Both are sunburst hardtails. One has a maple figerboard and the other is rosewood. They have the 2004 50th anniversary neck plates which I like. I paid $1500 for the two.

New? Sounds like a screamin' deal to me either way; hardtails are getting scarce it seems...

I found the rosewood neck strat on ebay. I contacted the seller after the auction ended and he did not get his reserve. When I told him I was really wanting a maple neck, he said he had that too. The $1500 for both included shipping. They were both in new shape with all the case candy. The rosewood model had all the stickers and tags still on it. The case hardware was still covered in protective plastic.
